EMPLOYEE HEALTH & SAFETY AWARENESS

All employees are required to have a basic awareness of general safety procedures to be followed in the workplace.

This one day course is designed to provide attendees with this knowledge to help safeguard them from the numerous risks to their health, safety and welfare whilst at work.

For those working on construction sites, the course will prepare them for the CSCS Health and Safety Test.

Who should attend the course?
The course has been developed for personnel who require a general knowledge of health and safety issues in the workplace.

Course Aims
To give attendees the knowledge and awareness of the health and safety issues present in the workplace and how best to deal with them.

Training Methods
The course will include tutorials using a powerpoint presentation and includes demonstrations of equipment.

Refresher Training
It is recommended that this course is retaken on a 3 yearly basis in order to refresh individuals or introduce them to newly introduced / amended legislation.

COURSE CONTENT
The course will generally cover the following topics but may be changed to suit the audience.
  The Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974
  Accident prevention, control & reporting.
  Working at height.
  Excavations.
  CoSHH.
  Personal protection.
  Plant & work equipment.
  Noise at work.
  Manual handling.
  Fire – cause, procedures & extinguishers.
  Safety signs.

Courses can be tailored to suit individual companies requirements.

Assessment
All persons attending the course will be required to pass a test paper prior to completing the course.
